Agritourism

The combining of agriculture and tourism is a natural and rewarding one for everyone.

"It's having working relationships with other business owners that makes living in a rural area successful ... you and Alan certainly understood the importance of networking ... Without a doubt the World Wide Web is our best marketing tool! Agriculture and Tourism ... combining the two industries makes a perfect marriage for us."
Jill Adams Mancivalano, Adams Family Farm

People in similar ventures, when viewed as valuable resources rather than as competitors, can provide personal and professional growth opportunities. The benefits of working in harmony cannot be overstated. Consumers and business owners alike reap the rewards. New associations lead to enriched lives and experiences.

The prospects for support, referrals, raising consumer awareness and shared experiences strengthen the local economy, enhance community spirit and bring recognition to the unsung heroes in rural towns, villages and cities.

The Vermont community we lived in enjoys a proud and strong agriculture history. Bonds forged with the important tourism industry have enabled many farmers to thrive in ways previously unimagined. Please take a moment to read excerpts from some of the many Testimonials we have received attesting to the benefits our Founding Members firmly believe resulted from their close ties with us and others in their rural community.

We have all chosen to live in the countryside and to be our own boss; a choice that demands hard work, extremely long hours, an independent nature and at times, isolated conditions. Simply put, there is strength in unity and that is where we come in.

All small business owners must search for new opportunities to market their offerings and remain viable. From time to time, we each need advice on overcoming obstacles, or simply support from someone who understands. Living in the countryside and running our own small business, we are at greater risk of becoming isolated ~ Countryside Connection seeks to change that.

Countryside Connection is the creation of Heléne Leichter-Saxby; author of  Cooking Inn Style ~  with years of experience as an Education Specialist, Cookery Teacher, Artist's Representative and with her husband, Alan Saxby, owner and Innkeeper of Beckwood Pond.
